About The Shoebox
Why did we create this photo blog?
PSNH has been generating and delivery electricity for more than 85 years, during which many, many photographs were taken. We were digging through our archives and found boxes of pictures from around the company. Everything from early bucket trucks to an employee basketball team. That same afternoon, we caught a tweet from Shel Holtz that pointed to The Lively Morgue, a new photo blog by the New York Times.
Our photos aren’t on the same level as the ones from the Times, but we think they have historical value, especially to our employees and those in New Hampshire. So, every now and then, we’ll be posting new (old!) photos to this Tumblr account.
One More Thing…
Believe it or not, most of the photos in our archive do not have captions or dates! We’re doing our best to add information when we can find it, but in many cases, we just don’t know enough. But … we have a feeling you might.
If you have any background information on any of these photos (e.g., names, location, years/dates), please click on the “Fill us in!” link at the bottom of each post. Yay crowd sourcing!
Enjoy!
